Ways to Get Involved
Volunteer Opportunities
Our Ministries
Mission of the Month:
There is a tremendous need for
affordable housing in our community. To help meet this need, Habitat Forsyth provides home ownership opportunities for families. They also advocate for policy change that will increase access to housing for everyone. Since 1985, Habitat Forsyth has built more than 400 safe, affordable homes in Forsyth County. They have served nearly 1000 families with new construction, home rehabbing, and global building. Did you know that every Habitat affiliate contributes a tithe of its unrestricted revenue to fund international housing projects in developing countries? That is how the mission of Habitat is spread all around the world.
Habitat Forsyth has encouraged our local United Methodist Churches to contribute money to build a UMC sponsored home. All congregations are encouraged to donate and to spend some time volunteering at a building site. Our June mission engagement project is Sherwood Forest Build Day on Saturday, June 13 from 8-3. We need 6 construction volunteers and volunteers who will make and deliver lunches to the worksite that day. Volunteers will be trained that day for the tasks they will perform—no special skills are required! Please sign up to be a part of this project and help a local family get a new home.
If you would like to make a financial donation to Habitat, you may do so through the church office designated to Habitat Methodist Build. Thank you for sharing hospitality with the group of Habitat volunteers at our May fellowship meal. They sent their thanks to the church for the delicious meal!
Also, thank you to everyone who supported Crisis Control Ministry during May and especially those who ate out for their Hope du Jour fundraiser.
